I strive to produce lifelike, realistic characterful drawings using the highest quality professional grade materials in a
combination of colour pencil and/or pastel
THE PROCESS​
​
Get in touch by filling out the ENQUIRY FORM so that we can discuss your pet portrait requirements.
Include any special requests or styling preferences you may have and let me know if you have a deadline in mind such as Christmas, a birthday or special anniversary.
Please send photographs to me by email or We Transfer.
Once we have chosen a reference photo, discussed and agreed prices, timescales and your pet portrait preferences I will provide you with an estimated completion date and ask you for a 50% deposit to secure and schedule in your booking.
UPDATES

When work on your portrait begins I will keep you updated on my progress by your preferred method of communication.
I do like to post my progress pictures and updates on social media. If the portrait is a gift or a secret commission, please let me know and I will withhold from posting until the portrait has been gifted or otherwise.
Upon completion of your portrait, when you have confirmed that you are happy with it, I will ask for the remaining balance plus the agreed postage charge.

Portraits will be shipped, delivered or available for collection once paid for in full.
PACKING, POSTAGE AND DELIVERY
​Portraits are carefully packaged in a specially made presentation box and shipped flat and sealed within a protective plastic sleeve to prevent against smudging and should be kept wrapped until framed. Unless otherwise agreed drawings will be supplied unmounted.
INTERNATIONAL DELIVERY
Rates will vary based on the size and weight of your finished portrait and the destination country. A shipping quotation will be provided for your acceptance and approval prior to commencement of any work on your portrait

PLEASE NOTE: Occasionally internationally posted packages incur an additional fee when being handled through customs.

PRICE ESTIMATE
Prices below indicate a starting price and are for a single animal with either a plain or simple tonal background.
Final price will depend on size, number of subjects, background and complexity.
A 50% non-refundable booking fee is required to confirm your place in my diary with balance being due on completion.

MINIATURE PET PORTRAITS - from R1500
These come mounted and framed and are available in 2 sizes (5x7cm and 9x9cm - inside dimensions - add another 2cm for the mount and 1cm for the frame).
I work within the guidelines of the Miniature Art Society of South Africa and drawings adhere to the one sixth rule and are proportionate to real life.
These make a wonderful keepsake or gift and you can create a beautiful collection of your pets over the years.

Sizes of Pencil Portraits
The sizes above are the sizes of the paper. Portraits will be drawn with a margin from the edge of the paper. This will allow for mounting and framing.
I will give you an idea which orientation will look best based on the photo provided. Please let me know if you have a preference to portrait or landscape
Additional Subjects
The prices above are for a single subject.
If you would like more than one pet/child in the portrait, there is an additional cost. Add an extra R500 per subject
Backgrounds
There is an additional cost if you would like a detailed background. Add an extra R500
There is often a waiting list so if you have a special occasion you are needing the picture done for, then please make sure you book it well in advance.
All artwork is created using artist quality coloured pencils on archival paper, ensuring that your work of art will be enjoyed for many years to come.
